Hal Coughlin established CoughlinDesign as Design Group of Boston in 1972. In 2000 moved the business just South of Boston and reincorporated as CoughlinDesign. Hal’s experience includes tenure as an advertising agency art director and package designer.

In addition to design, he has developed organizational abilities that enable him to take an assignment from inception, through design to final production. A graduate and past instructor of the Art Institute of Boston, Hal has received many design industry awards over the years, as has his firm.

Elinor Coughlin has worked closely with Hal for more than 20 years and oversees the general management of the business as well as some project research. The Coughlins work jointly to provide coverage on different aspects of large projects.

CoughlinDesign resources include relationships with independent writers, illustrators, photographers and graphic designers who provide specialty services as needed.
